1. About Kin Konnect
Kin Konnect is a digital service made available to users worldwide. The service is designed to help users connect with trusted family members or other chosen contacts, share invites, record check-ins, optionally use device motion or step signals to support inactivity monitoring, and send or receive inactivity alerts.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be legally able to enter a binding agreement and meet the minimum age required to use digital services where you live.
- You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably up to date.
- You may sign in using email and password, Google, or Apple, where available.
- If you use Google or Apple sign-in, those providers' own terms and privacy notices also apply to their services.
- Email/password accounts may require email verification before full access is granted.
- Kin Konnect may enforce a single active device session or similar session controls to reduce account misuse.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your device, authentication methods, and access to your account.
3. Connections and Consent
- You may only invite, connect with, or monitor people where you have an appropriate relationship and their informed consent, or another lawful basis recognized by applicable law.
- You must not use Kin Konnect to stalk, coerce, secretly surveil, harass, or otherwise misuse another person's information or status.
- Connected users may receive limited information needed for the service to function, such as your display name, invite status, monitoring status, and inactivity alerts.
- You are responsible for deciding whom you connect with and for reviewing connection requests before accepting or confirming them.
4. Service Description and Limitations
Kin Konnect uses a combination of manual check-ins, optional motion or step signals, background processing, and push notifications to support inactivity monitoring. The service depends on many factors outside our direct control, including device hardware, operating system behavior, permissions, background execution rules, battery optimization settings, internet connectivity, app-store services, and third-party infrastructure.
- Alerts, reminders, or monitoring signals may be delayed, missed, duplicated, or inaccurate.
- Kin Konnect does not guarantee that every period of inactivity will be detected or that every alert will be delivered in real time.
- Kin Konnect is not a healthcare provider, emergency response service, or professional monitoring company.
- If you believe someone may be in immediate danger, do not wait for Kin Konnect. Contact local emergency services or other appropriate assistance immediately.
- You remain responsible for your own decisions, wellbeing checks, and any caregiving or emergency actions you choose to take.
5. Permissions and Device Settings
Kin Konnect may ask for notifications, motion or activity access, camera access, or photo-library access depending on the feature you use. If you deny, revoke, or limit these permissions, or if your device restricts background activity or notifications, parts of the service may work less reliably or not at all.
- You are responsible for keeping your device settings configured appropriately for the alerting and monitoring features you want to use.
- Where supported, the app may provide in-app guidance about permissions, battery settings, or related device behavior, but you remain responsible for reviewing and maintaining those settings on your device.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
- Kin Konnect may offer free and paid subscription plans with different connection limits or feature access.
- Current plan names, pricing, currencies, limits, and included features are shown inside the app or in the relevant app store at the time of purchase and may vary by region.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable, and may auto-renew unless canceled through your store account before the renewal date.
- You are responsible for managing, canceling, or changing your subscription through the platform used for purchase.
- Refunds, billing disputes, and purchase rights are generally handled under the applicable app-store rules, subject to any mandatory rights you have under local law.
- We may update plan structure, pricing, features, or limits for future billing periods where permitted by law and platform rules.
- If you exceed an applicable connection limit, some connections may become inactive or unavailable until you upgrade, reduce usage, or otherwise return within the plan limit.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Kin Konnect for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful conduct.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data.
- Interfere with the normal operation, security, or integrity of the service.
- Reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or exploit the service beyond what applicable law expressly allows.
- Upload or transmit malware, malicious code, or harmful content.
- Misrepresent relationships, consent, or emergency situations.
- Bypass subscription, invite, connection, or security limits.
8. User Content and Feedback
- You retain ownership of content you submit, such as support messages, subject to the rights needed for us to operate, maintain, and improve the service.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, reproduce, and use submitted content solely as needed to provide support, investigate issues, comply with law, and operate the service.
- If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
9. Third-Party Services
Kin Konnect relies on third-party services, including Firebase, Google Cloud, Apple, Google, app-store billing systems, push notification services, and optional sign-in providers.
- Those services may have their own terms, privacy notices, technical requirements, and downtime.
- Firebase Authentication, including sign-in flows, may involve processing in the United States or other countries.
- If you choose Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, your use of those identity providers is also governed by the relevant provider's own terms and policies.

10. Intellectual Property
Kin Konnect, including its software, visual design, trademarks, logos, text, and other content made available by us, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
11. Availability and Changes
- We may add, remove, suspend, or modify features at any time.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or compatibility with every device, operating system, region, or app-store configuration.
- We may release updates, maintenance fixes, or security changes that you may need to install in order to continue using some or all of the service.
12. Suspension and Termination
- You may stop using Kin Konnect at any time and may delete your account through supported account settings, subject to authentication requirements.
- We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, create security or legal risk, or where continued operation is not reasonably possible.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including safety limitations, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and intellectual property provisions, will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kin Konnect is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not make guarantees or warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, perfectly accurate, suitable for a particular purpose, or sufficient to prevent harm, injury, emergencies, or missed welfare events.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kin Konnect and its operators, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity, or business interruption arising out of or in connection with the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Kin Konnect will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory rights relating to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where non-excludable, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limits are unlawful.
15. Consumer Rights and Regional Rules
- If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
- For digital subscriptions, by completing a purchase that begins immediately, you request immediate performance of the digital service. Where applicable law allows, this may affect any statutory withdrawal right once performance has started.
- Taxes, duties, and mandatory consumer rules may vary by country and will apply as required by law.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the EU country in which Kin Konnect is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent that mandatory consumer law in your country of residence applies and cannot be excluded.
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at kinkonnectapp@gmail.com and try to resolve the issue informally. If local law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts or before a consumer authority, those mandatory rights remain unaffected.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the last updated date. If the changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by another appropriate channel. Continued use of Kin Konnect after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires a different form of acceptance.
